Guizhou to Enhance Cooperation with Israel in Water-Saving Agriculture Development
A reporter learned from the "Guizhou-Israel Agricultural Enterprise Promotion Event" held in Guiyang on December 20 that the ongoing agricultural cooperation and training initiatives between Guizhou and Israel have already benefited some water-scarce areas in Guizhou.
According to reports, in recent years, several agricultural departments and enterprises in Guizhou have launched collaborative efforts with Israel, introducing advanced agricultural cultivation techniques and drip irrigation technologies. This has not only facilitated local agricultural development but also provided effective solutions to water scarcity challenges faced by regions including Southwest Guizhou, Bijie, and Liupanshui.
Li Guangwu, Secretary of the Agriculture Committee under the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, stated: "The primary objective of today’s Israel Agricultural Enterprise Promotion Event is to introduce more advanced foreign drought-resistant agricultural equipment."
It is understood that agriculture is a vital industry in Guizhou, boasting high-quality agricultural products and a wide range of varieties. However, due to its unique karst landform, Guizhou encounters the predicament of water shortage in agricultural projects, which restricts the further development of local agriculture. Israel, situated in the arid desert region of the Middle East, has developed sophisticated agricultural technologies and accumulated rich experience in this domain. Therefore, Guizhou will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Israeli agricultural experts and enterprises, aiming to promote the wider application of water-saving technologies in Guizhou and accelerate the advancement of its agricultural sector.
